Guarulhos International Airport is also known as Cumbica Airport. It's the most important airport in Brazil.
Guarulhos International Airport in São Paulo is the the biggest airport in Latin America. The most part of international flights coming to São Paulo land at Guarulhos International Airport, usually called just as Cumbica, name of the neighborhood around the airport. Althought is the biggest airport in Latin America, its size is not enough to hold the large and pretty country such as Brazil is.
The Guarulhos Airport has two terminals that are served by all brazilian airlines such as TAM Airlines, GOL Airlines, Avianca Airlines, TRIP Airlines, AZUL Airlines, and Passaredo Airlines, and also international airlines such as Delta, American, United/Continental, Air Canada, Air France, Britsh Airways, TAP, KLM, South African, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Qatar and many others. (see all in ANAC website).
TAM and GOL have free shuttle buses from Guarulhos to Congonhas Airport to their customers. There also a executive shuttle buses available to connect to different areas of São Paulo. The company name is Airport Bus Service. The one-way ride cost about R$ 35,00 (U$ 20,00). See all the lines and schedules at Airport Service website.
Taxi - If you choose take a taxi at Cumbica Airport, be aware that the Guarucoop taxi co-operative is the only taxi company authorized to pick up passengers at Guarulhos International Airport. However, certainly taking a taxi to a Subway Station close to your final destination will be cheaper than if you take a taxi directly from Guarulhos International Airport to anywhere in São Paulo.
A cheaper alternative is a regular urban bus that cost only a couple of dollars. The line is one of the Airport Bus Service options (see the schedule board bellow). It’s almost 20% of the amount you would pay to the Airport Bus Service. However, the bus only goes to Tatuapé Station (Red Line Subway Station). Look at outside terminal 2.
